Well, I'm finally sick of winter. Its suppose to be spring. They said this some time ago. But, winter seems to be hanging around like an old sewer rat:

From Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon we expect : 2-4 cm of snow

whad de hell is goin' on?

Sure would be nice to get the road ride back on the pavement. My winter ride is covered in road crud and I'm having an internal mass confusion trying to decide what clothing to bring (layers in the morning then full knap sack at night on the commute home).

All I can say is - if there is a bicycle jesus - please pee down a lot of rain and put the sun to work!

Lets just hope the city doesn't pollute the roads with salt tomorrow.

Yeah and ask the bike gods to calm the wind a bit. I went out last night only to fight 30-40 k winds for a couple of hours. Ouch!

are you down in TO?
whats the weather like there today? I heard you guys might get 10cm of the white crap. wtf is up with that anyhow...

the gods must be on crack or something.

I'm look'n for some hot summer weather right about now.

It is supposed to come down in the next couple of hours. It is really dark and windy right now. Depending on the temperatures it will be rain, snow, freezing rain or some other form of frozen nastiness falling out of the sky. I just heard some thunder. I have been braving the elements and I know what you mean about clothing. I hate carrying all the big knap sack as well. For me spring does not begin until I can change over to my light Cameback.

On another note: What are you using to hydrate for longer rides and when it's hot? I have been trying out different stengths of powdered Gatorade and Powerade. I find these too sweet and not that satisfying. I tried just going with water for a while, but as I get into the end of the second hour, I feel I need something more.

Any suggestions?

for long haul events - I use eload. Some don't like it. I don't mind it.
Tried others and they tend to crystalize and clog up.
Kind of a trial and error thing I find.

Others I have tried - Gu, not bad and Hammer HEED. I like HEED and I may switch over to it.

I only take the stuff during races or similar events. It makes me pee too much otherwise.
That brings back bad thoughts. Imagine hundreds of racers on a warm hot day waiting at the start line and some fella taking a piss in the middle of the line. ekkks! Then imagine many taking a piss as his pissing just triggered an event for them too start... gross it was.

holly sht! its getting worse as the day goes on:

From Wednesday evening to Thursday evening we expect : 10-15 cm of snow

I realize that most of it will hit the ground and go away. But, just keep in mind all the drivers that are going to be btching and complaining about how slippery it is. Then comes the salt trucks! Yuk!

Hopefully it rains like Noha has never seen for the next couple of days after that to get rid of the salt crap.

accomodating the automobile again. Man, if everyone biked we most likely wouldn't need salt.
Heck, I'd be willing to triple ride some people into work (one on the handlebar and one on the rear seat) if we could avoid more salt pollution. Yuk.

I don't mind the weather, I'm up to my neck in my studies until middle of next week. After that it better be dry and sunny until Christmas
