Here's an interesting stat:
(from Carbon FootPrint website www.carbonfootprint.com)
19000km of driving adds approx 3500kg of carbon dioxide
I'm trying to get the stats on how much oil a car will use during this period
(taking into account an automobile is maybe at most 40% efficient, the rest goes out as heat, exhaust, etc... so, the 1 litre of gas you put in isn't really going that far)
the article can be found on page A6.
why care? sht, not sure about you, but I don't want to be fighting for air when I get near retirement. Easier to fight for it now in my semi-youth.
