Taken with my new ef-s 60mm 2.8 usm macro, he was about 1/5th the size of a wasp I was also shooting.

Awesome stuff!!!! You should try the wasp at about f/4-f/5.6 .. make sure you get more of his body in focus. You'll still get some nice blur too!

hehe, the wasp was at F9, the fly is better because he was 1/10 the size of the wasp, was playing at 1:1 the whole time, wasp would not fit on the screen. Fly is croped more so they look the same size in the photo.

Was getting more wasp shots when the rain started icon_frown.gif

f9? Damn.. That's a wicked lens!

I need one! icon_wink.gif I can only get the 50mm or the 100mm. I rented the 100 awhile back from Ginn, but I was not super impressed with it... the focus was not as close as I thought it would be .. how far from the wasp was your lens?
ShaneMac
Very very close icon_frown.gif That is the prob with the 60, I also considered the Sigma 150 EX which I may have a look at tomorrow but it also costs 300 more. I know you are a sigma hater though. :)

Those shots were manual focus as well. I set it to 1:1 and hand focused moving back and forth.

Put up a few more flower shots but they are not 1:1 though.
